Univarsity Partners with ENAS
ENAS (European Network of Academic Sport Services) is the strategic body for UK and European Universities and the professional services within them that deliver sport, physical activity and wellbeing.
ENAS have over 120 members from 21 countries across Europe. Members benefit from collaborative projects and shared best practice and a supportive network of like-minded, innovative professionals keen to innovate and deliver a premium student experience in their Institution.
We have partnered with ENAS on an innovative research project further exploring the link between PHYSICAL ACTIVITY & ACADEMIC OUTCOMES…
The links between physical activity and academic performance have been recognised since the ancient Romans. More recently, "Spark!" by Ratey and Hagerman demonstrated how exercise improves brain performance by drawing on global research and best practice.
Despite this widely accepted knowledge, many students around the globe seem to forget about this when under time pressure to revise, meet assessment deadlines and "cram learn".
Recently, the majority (yes-over 50%) of students report mental health challenges and the vast majority of UK Universities have lower student satisfaction levels than before Covid, as Institutions grapple with "blended learning" and less time on campus for more students.
Univarsity is developing a groundbreaking product that directly links physical activity and academic attainment. This product will give Universities (and Schools and Colleges) a strategic delivery product which links personal student timetables, deadlines and pressure periods to prescribed and personal "brain boosting" physical activity plans.
Our research at UK Universities to date shows that 90.7% of students recognise a link between their own physical and mental performance and a similar 89.8% are interested (or very interested) in a platform that would enable them to maximise their results by using prescribed brain-boosting exercise/activity to improve their conditions and opportunity to get better grades.
We are pleased to partner with ENAS to explore this link wider and help us further explore study and exercise habits, and ultimately develop a platform that meets the needs of universities, students and educational establishments.
Non-ENAS members from other Education Institutions can get in contact to discuss wider opportunities to be engaged in similar innovative research and shape a product to meet your needs.
